Digital Dental Imaging in Romania — Safer, Clearer Diagnostics

Panoramic dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaw

Good treatment starts with a good picture of your mouth. The clinics we partner with in Bucharest use digital imaging that shows teeth, roots, bone and nerves in detail — while cutting radiation by up to 90% compared with older equipment.

What digital imaging is

Instead of traditional film, modern clinics capture images digitally. The picture appears on a screen in seconds, can be enlarged and adjusted, and can be shared with you and with the lab. Beyond flat X-rays, 3D imaging builds a full view of your jaw, so the dentist can see problems that a single-angle X-ray would hide.

This is the same family of imaging used to plan implants, assess bone and diagnose infections accurately.

Up to 90% less radiation

Digital sensors need far less radiation than old film to produce a clear image — up to 90% less. That matters when a treatment plan needs more than one scan. You get the detailed diagnostics without the radiation dose that came with older machines.

Who it is for

Everyone we help travels through imaging first. It is especially important for:

  • Implant planning, where the exact position, angle and depth of an implant is worked out from a 3D scan. See implantology and full-mouth implants.
  • Root canals, where mapping the canals improves the result. See endodontics.
  • Anyone planning treatment from abroad, since a clear scan lets us give you a realistic plan before you travel.

How it fits your visit, arrival to departure

Imaging is the first thing that happens when you arrive, and it is what lets us plan before you even leave home.

  • Before you travel: You send a recent panoramic X-ray (jpg or pdf). We use it to sketch an initial plan and tell you what to expect.
  • Day 1 in Bucharest: The clinic takes its own up-to-date images, including 3D where the treatment needs it, and confirms the plan in person.
  • During treatment: Imaging is used to guide and check the work.
  • Between appointments: Nothing to do here but enjoy the city. We suggest tours and restaurants.

Technology

  • Digital sensors with up to 90% less radiation than older film-based systems.
  • 3D imaging for a complete view of teeth, roots, bone and nerve position.
  • On-screen images shared with you and the in-house lab, so planning is clear and quick.

Frequently asked questions

Is dental imaging safe?

Dental X-rays already use low levels of radiation, and digital imaging lowers that further — up to 90% less than older equipment. The clinics use imaging only where it helps your diagnosis or treatment.

Can you plan my treatment from an X-ray before I travel?

Yes. Send a recent panoramic X-ray (jpg or pdf) and we can give you an initial treatment plan and a realistic idea of the time and steps involved. The clinic confirms everything with its own imaging when you arrive.

What kind of X-ray should I send?

A recent panoramic (OPG) X-ray is ideal because it shows all your teeth and jaw in one image. If you only have close-up X-rays, send those and we will tell you if we need more.

Do I need a 3D scan?

Not always. Simple treatment may need only standard imaging. Implant cases and some complex work benefit from a 3D scan, which the clinic takes on site when it is needed.

Will old X-rays from my own dentist be enough?

They are a good start and often enough for a first plan. The clinic usually takes fresh, up-to-date images on arrival so treatment is based on your mouth as it is today.
